Four Tabernacle Students were in the finals at the Oakland Raiders competition.

Michael McAdoo was crowned champion at this year's NFL Punt, Pass and Kick National Finals on January 15th at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta during the third quarter of the NFL Playoff game.   Former student Drew Buckley also attended the game and placed second in his division!

Fantastic job- It was an honor to have Michael and Drew represent Tabernacle School. Both boys are very gifted athletically, but even more important, both boys conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to God and to others.

Tabernacle Punt Pass and Kick Competition

Winners in each age group are determined by the total distance of their punts, passes, and kicks.  The national finals competition involves one contestant from each age group sponsored by each of the NFL's 32 teams.  Those contestants have already won local and sectional qualifiers to advance to that point.

Every contestant is allowed one punt, pass, and kick in this competition. Scoring is based on both distance and accuracy. Scores are also determined from where a contestant's ball first makes contact with the ground. A participant's final score is the total of the three events.

Last year, Andrew Buckley, former Tabernacle Student and brother of Emily Buckley, one of our eighth grade students, made it to the finals representing the Oakland Raiders.  Andrew has one more year in the same age group (14/15) and is in the running again this year along with his sister Emily!

Andrew Buckley and Michael McAdoo are currently at the top of their age group for their qualifying rounds.
