We are made in the image and likeness of God and each individual is incredibly unique. There is only one of you in the world. Have you ever wondered why schools seem to agree that only the Math and English people are intelligent? This is a very narrow attitude, and indeed, very hurtful for so many students. Tabernacle has worked to broaden the concept of intelligence, because we are convinced that Jesus would expect us to do this.
It would seem wise to say that if a talent or behavior is of value to society, the person should be considered as being intelligent or gifted. We believe that intelligence should be considered as multidimensional.
Since 1995 we have embraced the theory that students are smart in different ways. We have been thrilled to know that we are able to explore career options that match the intelligences of each student in Eighth grade. We have helped them see themselves as having a broad range of capabilities to be used in numerous professions.
We are living in a culture of rapid change in the workplace. In the future our children will not stay in one career for thirteen years. They may change professions several times during their lifetime. We are preparing them for this new world. This is priceless.
Our academic program is designed to not only prepare them with the national standards, but to excel in academics on a national level while embracing the different giftedness of each student.
We are dually accredited by the Association for Christian Schools International and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Each year our students test and rank nationally through the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT).
