Volunteer Background Check Policy

For the protection of the Tabernacle Students any volunteer who will be working with children will be required to complete the background check process. The process involves getting a live scan which is scanning of fingerprints for a FBI and Department of Justice check. In addition to a live scan volunteers will need to get a TB test.
Volunteers who are interested in completing this process should contact TIP at TIPCommittee@tbs.org or go to the front office for the required forms.
Please keep in mind the following:

For the protection of the children volunteers who choose not to get a live scan will have fewer volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers who choose not to get a live scan are still required to get a TB test.
Only one live scan is required during your child(s) continuous enrollment.
It may take up to three weeks to get the results of a live scan.

The results of the Live Scan are forwarded to Patti Chan in the financial office. Results are kept confidential. Patti only notifies TIP when volunteers are cleared to work.
Volunteers should contact their doctor to get a TB test and then forward the results to Patti.
